Who are your favorite musicians
or music groups?
MASHA: I listen to different kinds of music,
sometimes to pop music, sometimes to classical. I prefer
Russian pop music, but I don’t have any favorite groups.
It depends on my mood what I like to listen to.
ALEXEI: I like Russian rock music, for
example (the groups) Nautilus-Pampilius, DDT and also Russian
bards (singers) Vladimir Vysotski, Bulat Okudzhava, Alexander
Rozenbaum. I enjoy listen to classical songs by Pavarotti,
Caruso, (Russian tenor) Nikolai Baskov. From the Western
pop music, I like U2, Bon Jovi, Scorpions, Falco and many
more. Recently I started to like the German group Raymon
("Supergirl").
What are your favorite movies?
MASHA: I like Russian movies.
ALEXEI: I’m a cinema fanatic. It’s
difficult to say which is my favorite movie. I like French
movies, movies with Bruce Willis (for example The 5th Element)
or Star Wars, The Matrix. I also enjoy Russian movies, that
touch your soul like "White sun of the desert".
What is your favorite holiday?
MASHA: New Year’s Eve, because it
is a holiday for everyone, and everything is decorated so
nicely.
ALEXEI: New Year’s Eve. It’s
a great holiday, with presents, fireworks and the Christmas
Tree (yolka)
What is your favorite food?
MASHA: All kinds of salad.
ALEXEI: Everything, I eat about everything.
I love Japanese food. They also have good food in Germany,
tasty sausages… I also like "Glühwein"
(hot wine, popular in Germany during the winter).
What activities do you enjoy most
in your spare time?
MASHA: I like to go to the cinema and sometimes
I like to go dancing in the disco. I also read in my spare
time. I have a dog, Bessy, but my mother takes care for
it, because I don’t have much time.
ALEXEI: I go to the cinema, play billiard
or bowling. I enjoy to spend time outdoors, at the Finnish
Sea Gulf. Alexei Urmanov has his summer house (datcha) there,
and we go in the sauna. I like to be with good friends.
Alexei (Urmanov) is my best friend, I’d say.
If you were on a deserted island,
what three items would you want to have with you?
MASHA: Fire, books, paper and pen.
ALEXEI: Just books (because I like to read),
nothing else. No cell phones or computers!
What is your idea of an ideal vacation?
and where would you take it?
MASHA: An ideal vacation for me has to
be at the sea!
ALEXEI: It would have to be at the sea,
in the sun and with friends. That could be everywhere. Also
in the mountains – so one half of the vacation would
be in the mountains and the other half at the sea. I also
enjoy skiing!
