She calls it another adventure in her life- a pleasant and surprising one. This fall an authoritative American magazine "Figure Skating" published the photos of 5 most beautiful ice dancers. Among them is our Margarita Drobiazko.

Margarita has never conceived the idea of participating in a beauty contest. She’s assured that if it is possible to falsify the results of ice dancing, it’s much more complicated in such a subjective thing as beauty. However, her fans have arranged everything by themselves. When last year FS magazine carried out similar elections, the editorial staff was flooded with letters inquiring why there was no name of Drobiazko? This year the editors have corrected themselves.

Luckily, the photo of Margarita has been asked for in advance. However, this trifle has caused a lot of problems. The problem was that in all the photos Margarita is not alone- she’s with Povilas. They were saved again by the faithful fans- the twins from Moscow.

They’re always together in life. It seems as if they couldn’t be recognized separately. They came to the meeting with me together as well. Povilas sat at another table. We talked frankly- just a girl talk!

What can be better for a woman than the acknowledgement as one of the planet’s most beautiful ice dancers! However Margarita calms by telling that figure skating is a sport of beautiful people and that eternal womanish doubts are not foreign to her. " One day I may like myself, there are days, however, when I can’t even look at the mirror. It depends on how you feel, your mood or even the weather. Feminine charm is much more important than beauty."

Charm is the feature that this lovely 30-year-old woman doesn’t lack at all. Her height is 170cm, but she still loves high-heeled shoes. She prefers wearing long skirts, though because of frequent journeys, she often has to wear trousers. Her favourite colours are black and red, and she would never go on the ice in a grayish colourless dress. The colourful dresses she wears is also a merit of the ice queen: she’s the one to pick the right sketches and then embroider the dresses with sparkling beads.

In elementary school Margarita took to heart for being the smallest. She weighed only 19kg when she was in 3rd and 4th forms. In 11th form she started worrying for becoming the tallest girl in the class… Today she doesn’t hide her deficits: "I know my face very well. Before every competition I mask my slight asymmetry myself."

During her entire life Margarita has just twice visited a cosmetologist. It’s not because she doesn’t have any problems with her face- she just has her own philosophy of beauty: " Don’t grudge for a good quality cream and cosmetics. If after long flights my skin becomes more sensitive, I simply arm myself with patience and wait till it’s all over." However, Margarita is a frequent visitor at hairdressing saloon. She likes changing her style. A couple of years ago she had short hair with reddish and light skeins, now she has decided to come back to her natural looks- long naturally dark hair.

" It’s more feminine" she says with a smile.

Margarita’s recipe for a productive day is the morning sleep. She wakes up her organism with a glass of cold water and- let the day begin! 60 kg weighing ice dancer neglects strict limitations of food.

The star’s nourishment includes not only salads and her most favourite seafood. " Every day I treat myself with sweet things: a bar of chocolate or a piece of cake. It’s much better (especially before the practice session) than a fatty steak, hot dog or vedarai ( it’s a kind of sausage made of grated potatoes stuffed into entrails and baked in the oven)." says the skater. What if she gains some weight? Margarita will not restrict herself at any means: "I’ll keep eating the same things just in smaller amounts!"

What’s your ideal of beauty? The ice dancer confesses: " It keeps changing." At youth Margarita admired the heroine from movies about Angelica ("But her eyelashes are like wings!" she says laughing now), later on she started liking exotic nature. There was a time when she was in sympathy with oriental beauty. At present, she likes the features of an actress Penelope Cruz.

What about the most beautiful man? The ice queen would also prefer exotics- Antonio Banderas. " This doesn’t mean anything, however. The person you love is a different case. He doesn’t have to correspond to reality, " she adds sincerely. Margarita takes a sip of the cooling coffee.

Unexpectedly, I find out that none of the forms of entertainment are incomparable with her pets- four lovely cats. Margarita found the first one on the street. " She became the mistress of home" says Margarita with a playful smile. The second one simply came to her home in Moscow. This cat whelped 5 kittens: new masters were found for 3. The other 2 still live with Margarita and Povilas.

Povilas is not rushing us: he amiably says good-bye and whispers his wife that he’ll be waiting in the car. Margarita is not in a hurry at all. " One of the major changes in my life is the spare time" she says.

Margarita is glad that after many years sacrificed for figure skating, eventually time has started serving her. " I am the mistress of my time and this is fantastic!" blissfully says Margarita when we decide to scatter. It is unusual to see her going alone. But it’s not for long- just till she gets to the car.
