On
November 11th, a bunch of figure skating fans and some other
random visitors of “Akropolis” shopping centre
sat around
the glass covered skating rink to experience something amazing.
It was the mini rehearsal of the upcoming ice show “Ice
Flames”. The very place of action evoked interest
and curiosity. The ice rink is situated right in the middle
of a huge shopping centre and surrounded by glass walls-
just like an aquarium. People stop by for a cup of coffee
or to have their meal and at the same time they can enjoy
the view of the skating rink. Tonight at 9 p.m. the greatest
stars of figure skating stepped on this ice. Thanks to Margarita
Drobiazko and Povilas Vanagas, the Lithuanian audience got
an exceptional opportunity to see the amazing performances
of such skaters as Angelica Krylova and Oleg Ovsianikov,
Maria Petrova and Alexei Tikhonov, Elena Leonova and Andrej
Khvalko, Philippe Candeloro, Sylvia Fontana, Laurent Tobel,
ice acrobats Vladimir Besedin and Oleksey Polishuk and Lithuanian
champion Aidas Reklys.
Practice
Practice started at around 9:15 p.m. At first, all the
skaters stood in a line (Margarita and Povilas in front
of them) and got acquainted with the music and moves
for the opening and inale parts of the show.
All the skaters patiently and attentively followed Margarita
and Povilas, trying to imitate them afterwards. Step
by step, move by move and the overall picture of the
very first and ending parts of Ice Flames came clearer
and clearer.

is multi-talented. He can watch over the choreography
of the skaters and at the same time arrange the last
details of the show on his phone.
And
these are going to be the imaginative borders of the
ice that we have during the shows. Using the blade coverages
