"Skating Champions European Tour" 2006


"Skating Champions" is a new production of world famous figure skaters Margarita Drobiazko and Povilas Vanagas.

It has been five years already since their show has been successfully performed not only in Europe but in Shanghai, China, as well. The key to the success of their ice shows is the combined performance of the greatest ice-skaters and extraordinary acrobats, singers, dancers - all wrapped in dancing choreography and thrilling visual effects.

> The Tour :
"Skating Champions" will gather only elite skaters who are loved and popular all over the world. The spectators will see the most famous and the newest numbers of the performers. The authors of the show state that their aim is to give as much emotions to the spectator as possible and the beauty, passion and tragedy of dancing should inspire one to dream.

Fourteen artists - ice-skaters, comics, acrobats, singers - will perform during the two-hour concert. Audiences will witness performances of outstanding figure skating stars - Olympic Champion, four times world champion, three times European champion Alexei Yagudin, US Open Champion Rory Burghart, World and European medallists Margarita Drobiazko and Povilas Vanagas, European medallist and French champion Stanick Jeannette, one of the best comics on ice Laurent Tobel, two times Professional world champions Elena Leonova and Andrei Khvalko, world famous ice acrobats from Caucasus Armen Saakian and Akop Manoukian, American Open Champion "Show Act" Irina Grigorian, US air acrobats Debbie Park and Lee Park.

The ice show will consist of two parts. The first part - a performance which will bring one back to childhood and into a fantasy world; the second part - divertissement: expressive and bright as Fireworks of New Year! Alexei Yagudin will perform his most famous number - "Winter". This program brought him a gold medal at 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City.

Armenian and Georgian acrobats, many times National Champions of their own countries - Armen Saakian and Akop Manoukian - will show their most popular numbers "Captain Jack" and "Austin Powers". These acrobats include very difficult and expressive acrobatic elements in their numbers; they are the only ones in the world who perform a duet backflip on the ice. A. Saakian and A. Manoukian are very popular artists in America and Europe: They are invited to such popular shows as "Champions on ice" and "Art on Ice". Their acrobatic abilities have even been used in some Hollywood movies!

Rory Burghart is a dark-skinned figure skater who is known for her elastic and elegance; She is US Open Champion.

Margarita Drobiazko and Povilas Vanagas are World and European medallists, who represented all Baltic States in the fight for the highest ranks at the world ice stage for many years! Audiences will admire their brand new number choreographed to Pink Floyd music.

Stanick Jeannette, European medallist, French Champion, will show his number "Charlie Chaplin". Thanks to his French charm this number and character becomes very vivid and realistic.

One more French champion - Laurent Tobel - is regarded as the best comedian on ice in the world! His performance "Carmen" makes people cry and laugh in all arenas of the world!

Debbie and Lee Park - flying acrobats from California - their numbers in the air for sure will take your breath away! Be ready for something very special!

Last but not least "Skating Champions" is proud to present you a charming singer from Russia - Valerie - whose songs will be the icing on the cake. Her ice show singing premiere took place in 2005 at the "Olympic Ice Flames" tour performances in Lithuania, and after huge success will continue at the "Skating Champions 2006" European Tour.
